Arrow, the CW series that started a hero franchise inspired by DC Comics characters, comes to an end after eight seasons: the eighth and final season of the show is expected to be released between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 , with 10 episodes directed by Stephen Amell, also the protagonist’s interpreter.
According to Mark Pedowitz, president of CW, this is an opening for the second phase of DC Comunics series on the network: “Things get older and we want the next generation of programs to keep the CW / DC universe for as long as possible” , he says.
“That was a tough decision, but like all the tough decisions we’ve made in the past seven years, it was in the best interests of the mind,” says executive Beth Schwartz and executive producers Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim in a joint statement published on Wednesday (06).
“We are excited that Arrow has given rise to an entire universe of programs that will continue for many years to come. We are excited to work out a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and is grateful to all writers, producers, actors and – most importantly – the incredible team that supported us and the show for more than seven years “, continue.
It is the end of an era.
