If Netflix didn’t want it, there are those who want it.
After Anne with an E was officially canceled in its third season by the streaming platform and CBC, its broadcaster in Canada, fans and viewers started a wave of internet campaigns, and one of them was noticed by Disney +, which seems positive about a negotiation to save Canadian production.
On Twitter, fans shared the series renewal hashtags and marked the Disney + profile in the message, which offered to respond and raise public expectations:
“Your efforts are inspiring and we are definitely taking all your efforts into consideration! Disney has definitely turned its attention to the situation and is taking note! Continue the trend and we will see what the future holds!”
At least ten similar messages were posted by the same Disney + profile on Twitter, in response to invincible fan contacts. However, Casa dos Ratos has not yet officially expressed its interest in rescuing the series from the cancellation, and everything remains uncertain so far.
Released in Canada in November 2019, Anne with an E’s so far final episodes had their global release only last week when they reached the Netflix catalog on January 3.
