Anime Dr. Stone arrives in Brazil via Crunchyroll

THE Crunchyroll announces that the anime of Dr. Stone will be available exclusively on the platform, debuting in the July season. The series will be broadcast simultaneously to users in Brazil and Portugal, with subtitles in Portuguese and audio in Japanese.

Dr. Stone is based on the award winning manga written by Riichiro Inagaki (Eyeshield 21) and illustrated by Boichi (Sun-Ken Rock, Origin), and published weekly in the journal Shonen Jump. He was the winner of the 64th Shogakukan Manga Award in the Shonen category, a traditional Japanese manga industry award. The manga has been published in Brazil since 2018 by Panini Publishing House. The anime adaptation will be in charge of the studio TMS Entertainment (Megalo Box, Lupine the 3rd).

Thousands of years after a mysterious phenomenon turns the whole of humanity to stone, the extraordinarily intelligent Senki Ishigami wakes up. In this new world of stone, Senku decides to use his science to rebuild a civilization on the brink of collapse. Together with his super-muscular childhood friend Taiju Oki, who woke up with him, the two begin to rebuild the world from scratch.
