The long-awaited Original Amazon series El Presidente will bring the story of “FIFA Gate”- corruption scandal that occurred in 2015 – for more than 200 countries and territories, exclusively, in the Prime Video.
Against the backdrop of cities in Latin America, the USA and Europe, the series explores the sports scandal that rocked the world through the story of Sergio Jadue, Chilean president of a small football club that went from anonymity to becoming a key player in a important conspiracy for a $ 150 million bribe alongside the president of the Argentine football federation, Julio Grondona.
The eight-hour series, each lasting an hour, features a star-studded cast, including Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder), Andrés Parra (Pablo Escobar: The Lord of the Traffic) and Paulina Gaitán (Diablo Guardian), among others. The drama is directed by Natalia Beristain (Luis Miguel: La Serie), Gabriel Díaz (Bala Loca) and the Oscar-winning director and screenwriter Armando Bo (Birdman), who is also an executive producer.
In addition to Bo, El Presidente is co-produced by Gaumont in partnership with Fable, an award-winning producer led by Pablo and Juan de Dios Larraín ; and with the Argentine producer Kapow.
