The book Love of Redemption, by the author Francine Rivers, will get a theatrical adaptation.
The actress Abigail Cowen, seen in the series Sabrina’s Dark World, will play the protagonist Angel.
Launched in Brazil in 2010, the synopsis of the book says that the story takes place in California in the 1850s, a time when men sold their souls for a handful of gold and women sold their bodies for a place to sleep. Angel learned not to expect from men anything but betrayal. Sold as a prostitute as a child, the only way she can survive is to keep the hate alive in her heart.
And what she hates most is the men who used her, leaving her with an immense inner void. Until the day she meets Michael Hosea. A man who seeks the divine in all things, Michael obeys God’s call to marry Angel and love her unconditionally. Gradually, he conquering a place each day bigger in the heart of his wife, who begins to open up to him.But, with the unexpected arrival of this love, Angel is invaded by overwhelming feelings of fear and contempt for herself. And then she runs away, back into the darkness, away from her husband’s persevering love, terrified of the truth that she can no longer deny: her ultimate healing must come from the one who loves her even more than Michael… the one who never will abandon it.
