On May 10, 2020, Mother’s Day will be celebrated. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic many people are clueless as to what programming to put together for this very special day. 1- Lady Bird (2017)
Lady Bird tells the story of Christine McPherson, a teenager in her senior year of high school. Thus, Lady Bird, as she likes to be called, has the dream of leaving Sacramento (a city in California) and going to college on the East Coast of the United States. However, while he does not receive the letters of approval from the universities to which he enrolled, he has to deal with typical problems of adolescence, such as schoolwork, dating and a conflictual relationship with his mother.
2- The Exchange (2008)
The film The Exchange takes place during the great depression in Los Angeles, United States. It all starts when Christine Collins, played by Angelina Jolie, leaves for work and leaves her son Walter at home. Upon returning, he realizes that the boy has disappeared and contacts the authorities so they can find him.
She starts a big search for her son, which seems to end 5 months later, when the police claim to have found Walter and bring him back to Christine. However, the woman is sure that that was not her son and starts to pressure the authorities to find him.
3- My Mother and Me (2016)
My mother and I tells the story of concert photographer Rigby Gray, who discovers she is pregnant during the best time of her career. Thus, Rigby decides to do a photo shoot portraying the role of the Mother in the most diverse families. Then, other stories of mothers and daughters are presented that make the photographer rethink her entire family relationship.
4- Valente (2011)
The film Brave Disney Pixar tells the story of Princess Mérida Dunbroch and her complicated relationship with her mother, Queen Elinor. That’s because, while her mother spends much of her time teaching traditions, the history of the kingdom and the etiquette of a princess, all Mérida wants is to be free and explore the kingdom with her bow and arrow.
However, the situation gets worse when the princess finds out that she has to marry one of the heirs of the allied clans, the one who wins the competition by her hand. However, she chooses bow and arrow as proof of the competition and participates in her own hand, and wins. This infuriates their mother, causing them to fight. This causes Mérida to make a decision that will change the fate of both.
5- The Single Moms Club (2014)
The Single Moms Club tells the story of 5 single mothers who must form a group to organize a major school event. This is because their children were caught spraying the pool in the place and they must fulfill this task to prevent their children from being expelled. Then, the 5 mothers end up approaching and forming a club, in which they support each other, and thus, they end up seeing that they can love again.
